Gulf spill claims administrator says BP complaint lacks merit

Feds seek to block activism defense for lab owner

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Federal prosecutors want a judge to prohibit defense
lawyers from saying a laboratory owner's past environmental activism is the
reason behind her prosecution on charges of faking wastewater samples.
Tennie White, owner of Mississippi Environmental Analytical Laboratories
Inc., was indicted Nov. 7 on charges of making false statements and
obstruction related to tests that a company hired her to do.

Oily ducks found after thousands of gallons of oil spill in Arkansas

WELLSBORO, Pa.—A firm called East Resources Inc. was among the first to

drill into the Marcellus Shale, a rock layer found to be rich in natural

gas. As the small wildcatter drilled, starting in 2008, regulators

repeatedly cited it for spills or other environmental infractions, almost

two for every shale well it drilled.
