NEW ORLEANS -- A federal judge has appointed former FBI Director Louis
Freeh to conduct an investigation of alleged misconduct by a lawyer who
worked for the court-supervised administrator of BP's multibillion-dollar
settlement along with a team of private attorneys.

Tar mats prompt closure of small area off East Grand Terre Island

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has closed an area off
East Grand Terre Island to all but recreational rod and reel fishing
because tar mats were removed from the area last week. BP PLC says the
closing appears groundless and will hurt Louisiana.

Trial delay sought in former BP exec's Gulf oil spill criminal case
