New regs for Thursday: Fish, efficiency, military

Endangered: The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is moving forward with newprotections for certain fish.

The NMFS announced Wednesday it will list the gulf grouper as an endangered species, and the island grouper as a threatened species. But the agency is not designating a critical habitat.

The protections go into effect in 30 days.
