Four contractors submit bids for Bowmar erosion work

Memphis solid waste fees threaten to fall short of needs

Over the next decade, Memphis could face huge budgeting shortfalls in its three enterprise funds, requiring City Council action or a "substantial increase" in solid waste fees by fiscal year 2018-2019, Public Works Director Robert Knecht said Tuesday.

McConnell to push resolution nixing Obama coal rule

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he will introduce a resolution in January to undo an Obama administration coal rule released on Monday. 

The Interior Department’s Stream Protection Rule is “part of the administration’s plan to demolish these coal communities right now and long after the president has left office,” McConnell said in a Monday statement.
