DEC tells EPA to stop delaying ozone reducing requirements for other states

ALBANY — The state Department of Environmental Conservation is calling on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to hold other states accountable for ground-level ozone pollution in the Northeast by requiring them to reduce emissions.
The EPA is in the process of determining if any additional requirements need to be placed on upwind states requiring power plants in those states to reduce smog pollution. The EPA is proposing that no additional requirements are needed to adhere with the federal Clean Air Act.
