The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality is hosting the agency's first ever America Recycles Day event on November 15 in Jackson. MDEQ invites area businesses, agencies, institutions, organizations,
and the general public to celebrate the America Recycles Day event in Smith Park in downtown Jackson from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. MDEQ, along with many local partners, will be sponsoring this event to promote the benefits of recycling and provide information on how to set up recycling programs. The event will offer numerous booths and exhibits explaining the environmental and economic benefits of recycling in fun and educational ways.

  • Stewpot – bring canned goods to help low income people and families. In conjunction with the collection of these canned goods,MDEQ will be promoting safe donation practices for usable food from area grocery stores and restaurants to reduce the amount of food waste going into landfills.
