Association: Shrimp processors still face oil spill dilemma

GULF OF MEXICO — With looming legal deadlines related to the 2010 BP oil
spill, dozens of shrimp processors along the Gulf Coast face a difficult
dilemma, with either decision having the potential to jeopardize the future
of their businesses and the region's seafood industry, according to a
leading trade association.

Group updates Hancock County on South Mississippi tourism

BAY ST. LOUIS -- Tourism tax revenues, gaming revenues and hospitality jobs

are all up from last year. That was the bottom line of the presentation

given by the Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership on Thursday at the

Hancock County annex building.





The meeting was called to help residents understand how money from BP was

being used to promote tourism in Hancock County and across the Coast.

Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara, left, accepts a 2003 Ford
Excursion from Tom King, Southern District transportation commissioner, for
use in an inmate litter removal program. The vehicle was recently retired
from the Mississippi Department of Transportation's fleet. The sheriff's
office will use the car five days a week to transport inmates to work sites
for litter pickup and to haul a trash collection trailer. Area law
enforcement officials attended a news conference at the county jail in
support of efforts to enforce anti-litter laws.
