EXPANSION BRINGS 60 NEW JOBS TO LEE COUNTY 7/18/2016
Jackson, Miss. – AIA Countertops, a division of Patrick Industries, Inc., is expanding its operations into Baldwyn, Miss. in Lee County, investing $600,000 and creating 60 new jobs.

“I am pleased the AIA team chose Lee County as the location of their new countertop fabrication operation,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “I know the skilled, productive workforce found in North Mississippi will ensure AIA enjoys many successful years in our state.”

Miles of Algae and a Multitude of Hazards

The stench of decaying algae began rising from coastal waterways in southeastern Florida early this month, shutting down businesses and beaches during a critical tourism season. Officials arrived, surveyed the toxic muck and declared states of emergency in four counties. Residents shook their heads, then their fists, organizing rallies and haranguing local officials.

Beijing says air quality improved in first half of 2016

EPA updates methane requirements for landfills

Under new rules announced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Friday, solid waste landfill operators must begin capturing methane emissions from their sites at levels one-third lower than current standards permit.
