Tupelo, Miss. (WCBI)-Transportation Commissioner Mike Tagert has announced grant awards for multimodal projects in Mississippi's Northern Transportation District.

Mississippi awarded $2.5 million to fight Zika virus
ATLANTA (WLOX) - The State of Mississippi will receive nearly $2.5 million to help combat the Zika virus.
More than $1 million of the funding will come from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and $1.2 million will come through the CDC's Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases Cooperative Agreement.

Dixie Electric to hold energy fairs

Dixie Electric Power Association will host its annual Energy Fairs to provide energy efficiency tips and information to help people save on their electric energy bills. The Fairs will be held at local retail stores, so individuals can shop for energy saving materials or plan for projects when they receive the information.

40 senators seek higher biodiesel mandate

EPA RESEARCH SHOWS MODERATE OR SEVERE CORROSION IN DIESEL USTS

​WASHINGTON – In a report released this week on corrosion inside diesel fuel underground storage tanks (UST), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found moderate or severe corrosion that could affect metal components inside both steel and fiberglass underground tank systems, according to the report.
